Getting Hitched!

Yep, you read it right, I'm getting married!!! It was the sweetest thing! Vince had Mya walk out with the ring and hand it to me. I couldn't believe it! Was it really what I thought it was? Sure enough Vince got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. After a tearful yes, he gave me a great big hug! He had no flowers, no big speech, nothing fancy, but it was the sweetest thing I could ever imagine!

So, as you can imagine, I'm going to be quite busy planning! We're getting married on Jan 23, 2010 before we leave for Alabama. Things are going rather smoothly, which is the way I'd rather have it! I'll get some pictures of everything after the wedding. Wish me luck! :)

Mya and Makeup

Mya loves to play with anyone's makeup. You can almost always find her digging into my makeup or Grandma's makeup! Well when Grandma Huff was putting on her makeup, Mya found her eye shadow. Yes you heard me right, eyeshadow. This isn't lipstick!

Mesa Falls

Vince and I were invited to go camping with Daneile and Chris to Mesa Falls. I was excited to go because I hadn't been camping in 3 years! We got all packed up on Friday and left town. (Mya stayed with my Mom) It took us a couple of hrs to drive there and another 20 min to hike to the camp spot. It had such a beautiful scenery and was an excellent spot to camp. After we unloaded, we all went down to the river to watch Chris fish. I decided to try climbing up the rocks back to our campsite. I didn't get very far, but it was fun to climb rocks like a little kid again!

3 bites and 3 lost fish later, Chris gave up on fishing for the evening and we all hiked back to our camp spot. We then made a camp fire and sat around waiting for everyone else to show up.

Daneile had a wonderfully fun idea to make a torch. We all watched as she ran around picking up things to use in her torch. She even glued it together with some sticky sap. It was a way neat torch and it burned for quite awhile, although it didn't light up very far.

That night we had yummy dutch oven lasagna and peach cobbler for dessert. It was fantastic. We then stayed up and talked and laughed around the campfire. Chris sure has some colorful friends and made me laugh a lot.

The next morning, Vince and I were the only ones awake and sitting around snacking when Vince nudged me and pointed, I looked over and to my surprise there was a small grizzly bear about 100 ft from our camp!! Holy Cow! Where is the darn camera?!?! Of course, I didn't think of getting a picture until it was gone. Vince and I stood up slowly and was inching our way to the tent to wake up Chris and Daneile. It took a long time to get them to believe us. In fact they didn't get up until I said "You can punch me in the face if there isn't really a bear, just get up!!" As we were trying to get their attention, the bear looked at us and it made me freeze! I was like crap, now he's going to say "hmm, some yummy campers, I think I'll eat them!" But lucky for us, the bear was scared and ran away, but not before Daneile and Chris saw the little guy! I just have to say that we were lucky he wasn't full grown or baby, because then we would be dealing with a mama bear!

After our exciting morning, everyone decided it was time to jump off the cliff into the water. I have to say that it was the craziest thing that I've ever seen and I would never jump off it myself. It was way neat to see them do it. We got a lot of videos and pictures. After they jumped into the freezing water a couple of times, we decided to go for a hike. We hiked for about 30 min and ended up at another cliff they used to jump off of. They found a raft and 2 oars and went down the river with it a couple of times. (Those guys are just full of adventure)

When we got back into camp, it was time for lunch and yummy cobbler again! Plus some more fishing! Chris ended up with 1 fish, Vince and I on the other hand, didn't catch a single one. Bummer! When our tummies were full, it was time to start packing and head home. I didn't want to leave quite yet, but I missed Mya terribly! (it was the longest I'd ever been away from her)

It was such a great weekend and I'm glad we were invited. I can't wait to go camping again! Maybe next time we can bring some guns and go shooting as well.

Nacho Night

So every Wednesday my family goes out for $5 nachos at Mama Inez. This week we got together with my Aunt Tracy and her family. We had Chelsie's girls and Mya down at one end so they could entertain each other. Mya is still a shy little girl around other kids.

But after awhile, her and Olivia were trying to feed each other. We even caught Olivia climbing on the table! I tried getting a picture of me and Vince, but as usual Vince makes a goofy smile and I can't get him to smile normal! Needless to say, it was a fun night and I enjoy nacho night.Vince and his very adorable smile. haha

Life in Pocatello

Ok, it's been awhile since I've updated this and I don't even have an excuse. We've been back in Pocatello for about 3 weeks now. Things are settling down and we've gotten into our own routine. I'm back to work with Shelynn and Vince has taken over caring for Mya full time. He loves having her around all day and she loves having him home too. Those 2 together are such a handful! :) Vince becomes a kid around her and it makes me smile. I'm sure when she's older and has pretend tea parties, Vince will be sitting next to her with a little tea cup and playing right along with her.

We're living with my parents at the moment. I'm hoping we can find a place of our own soon. It's hard going from having your own space and privacy to living in a full house. You have to adjust and just make the best out of it. Fortunately for us, we have wonderful people who we're sharing our food and company with!

So the other day, one of Vince's friends, Ethan, gave Mya a little tricycle. Let me tell you, she absolutely loves it. Her feet can't quite reach the peddles, but she can steer it all on her own, as long as someone pushes her. Once I get pictures, I'll be sure to post them on here. (I have to find my camera adapter thing first)

Mya has been growing so fast. 4 teeth have just broken through over the past week. It was hard to watch her try to break all 4 at the same time, she was miserable and if you have a child of your own, you know how hard it is when they get hurt or sick. Apart from her teething, she's been exploring new sounds! She says grandpa like "bompa" and loves to follow the dogs going "ruff, ruff" She is such a smart little thing! She may not have a lot to say, but she does know her shapes! Grandma Shelton got her this little toy that deals with shapes and Mya (with a little help and encouragement) puts the shapes in the right hole all by herself! I'm such a proud Mom!

Vince and I have been playing a lot of guitar hero and have become experts on the 'medium' level. It's been fun and such a silly game has actually brought us closer together. It's cheap and we can play for hours! It's kinda our little date and I love it.

I know this is probably a boring post, but at least I'm updating you on whats happening!

A very Happy Birthday!

Alright, so it was my birthday on the 28th, as you all must know. I had planned to go swimming that afternoon and dinner at Chevy's that night. The day started out great! I was woken up by Vince singing "Happy Birthday to you..." and was even greeted by a very happy baby! We then went out and got some breakfast from Jack in the Box. (Vince loves their breakfast burritos)

We then got ready to go swimming, unfortantly I forgot my camera, so no pictures from that experience. I just have to tell you that it wasn't a day for swimming. The water was freezing and the sun hid behind the clouds all day! Despite that all, I still loved it!

After we got all cleaned up, we went out for mexican at Chevys. I can tell you that it wasn't the best meal, but the tortillas were freaking amazing! They put this on me and sang to me! I  wasn't too embarassed, and to be honest, I actually enjoyed it. I know Vince is making a funny face, but it was the most decent one we got of him. (the punk)Yes, this is a cute little girl! She has beans all over her mouth. After our meal, we ordered fried icecream. All I can say about is "yum" It was awesome and made up for the bad service and not so friendly meal. After all, it was a great day and I throughly enjoyed it! Ahhh, isn't it great to have a birthday????

Lake Tahoe

Alright, we only have 4 Sundays left here and we were trying to figure out what fun things we could do before we head back to Pocatello. Our first Sunday we went to Lake Tahoe. It was so much fun and I would really like to go back someday and actually camp for a whole week!

This is a little view of what we were seeing. It all was so beautiful, but I couldn't look down too long, it scared me to see how high we were up and so close to the edge!

Here is our little explorer! She wandered everywhere around that campsite. I had to keep a very close eye on her and often had to chase her to get her back into camp! Mya picked up a lot of sticks while exploring and would carry them around until she found another one. Sometimes she would have one in each hand!  Even in the outdoors with yummy BBQ, Mya still goes after the dog food. What is so delicious about it I will never know! Twinkee didn't mind in the least that Mya was digging her food, maybe Twinkee was hoping for Mya's burger for a trade! :)

Our next stop after lunch was the beach!! I heard the water was really warm and I couldn't wait to try it out! When we got there though, the water only went up to your waist and you would have to walk at least a mile or more to get to anything deep! Well, I let Vince wander out until I couldn't see him anymore, while I watched Mya. As we were sitting on the beach playing in the sand, Mya spotted a goose and the goose spotted her. They stared at eachother and the goose made slow steps to her, probably wanting some food from her. Before we got this picture, the goose was a lot closer to Mya. I think it scared her just a little because Mya was back peddling out of the way! After the goose left Mya alone, she got more brave and was starting to explore again. Instead of collecting sticks, she collected tiny sea shells. I was a little nervous that she was going to try and eat them!

We soon decided to go search for a different beach. One where we could actually do some real swimming. After a little drive, we found the perfect beach. The sand looked clean and fun to play in and the water was still shallow, but you could swim and get to deeper water that wasn't miles away! Well, Mya wasn't afraid of the water at all! We were all in water to our ankles just feeling it, but Mya wanted in! She started to run to Vince, but tripped and fell, face first right into the water! She was so brave! She didn't even cry. We were all clapping and saying "Good job Mya!" After her slip in the water, Mya was just shivering. So I changed her into a dry diaper and wrapped her in her towel. She soon warmed up and started playing in the sand with us. Mya and Daddy playing in the sand and having fun burying Mya's feet. Mya loves sand and found out that she likes to throw it. We were trying to get her to stop but Vince kept laughing so she kept doing it! haha, maybe we'll get through to her, if we can keep a straight face when we tell her "No"Before we left, we had to get one family picture in front of the beautiful lake. I really like this picture of us, I'm even thinking about getting it framed for our future house.

As we were walking back to our cars, Vince spotted this huge tree. We couldn't pass up the chance to get a picture next to it!After our days adventure, we went back to the camp and was going to roast some marshmellows. Mya was being grumpy because she was really tired. Thankfully Daneile took her for a walk in her stroller and soon Mya fell asleep.Doesn't she look so peaceful? I just wanted to pick her up and hug her tight to me while she slept! I miss having her sleep in my arms.Mom and sleeping Mya.

After we roasted some marshmellows and watch Jason and Ryan roast cresent rolls, which turned out to be pretty good, it was time to head home. The drive home seemed to last forever! The roads were very windy and rather scary in the dark! I was really glad that Vince was driving! I can't wait for our next Sundays adventure!

The Martinez family! And one Huff

Alright, I'm going to do a couple days into just one post. These first few pictures was of us playing with our camera and seeing the cool things it could do. Vince turned it on to take 5 pictures, one right after the other. We had fun and got some good pictures and other crazy ones!

Here is one that I think is a pretty good picture, although Mya is not smiling, at least she is looking into the camera!

No matter how good mine and Vince's faces look, Mya still manages to show us up and just look so cute!! :)

The next morning was a gorgeous day! The weather was perfect, I think it was maybe 80-82? So we hurried and got ready and ran out the door to the park so Mya could swing and play to her hearts content on those wonderful toys!

Our first stop was the swings, she just loves swings! *Warning: these pictures are was cute, be prepared to go "ooh" and "ahh"*

This one is my favorite! She was just so excited and was snorting while swinging! (when will her laugh just come out?) Never the less, her snorts are still way precious.

Our next stop was to the toddler play area. We planned to make our way around and end up at the big girl toys last.

Mya was such a big girl! She didn't even need my help! Yes, I was behind her because I'm a worry wart, but she climbed up the thing all on her own!

Mya figured out how to bounce on this thing and it just made her squeal! She would walk up and down this and jump on each end.

Oh no! The wheel!! This one is a little too tall for her, but she still liked to spin.

This is such a happy picture! She was excited that we finally got to the slides! She likes to crawl up them and occasionally she'll manage to get to the top all by herself! This gave her quite a thrill! She liked to crawl through the tube. She could stand up and still fit in it!

This park is huge! Look at how small Mya looks compared to the toys! The little toys are behind us too! This is such a cute pictures, I'm thinking about doing it in black and white and hanging it on my wall! (When I get a wall I can hang it on!) It's so sweet and innocent and curious all at the same time! The very happy Mom and Dad. It makes us happy to watch Mya enjoy herself!

Vince decided that he wanted to play a little on the toys himself, but the first thing he tries, he gets himself stuck! I quick snapped a picture before he could do anything and then I had to help him out of the tangled mess!It was a good day and not too hot. Mya had her fun and was crashed in the car as we drove home. I'm hoping another cool day heads our way so we can run to the park again!

What a Big Girl

Alright, so I decided that it's time to start teaching Mya how to feed herself with utensils. We striped her down to her diaper and sat outside on the patio with some berry applesauce and a spoon. We first held Mya's hand with the spoon in it to show her how it would work in that tiny hand! I must say, she got where the spoon was suppose to be realy fast, the problem was keeping the applesauce on the spoon while it traveled to her mouth.

We had a lot of fun! She is just so cute at being a big girl! I'm trying to let her do more things on her own. I think I smother her too much and she really does need to learn how to do things by herself.

This was the same day and we were making faces to eachother through the window! It was a fun day and I can't wait to get her some plastic forks!

A Day At The Park

The other day, Mya  and I went out to the park for one: to get out of the apartment. And for 2: get some fresh air. She made a new friend that day. This little girl was probably about 4. She held Mya's hand and walked with her everywhere all the while non stop talking.

Mya really likes to climb up the slides. When her shoes are grippy she can climb up the whole slide! She gets really happy and is sure proud of herself after she does it. What a cutie!

After she gets to the top, she takes off across the bridge and right to the steering wheel. This little play ground isn't much for me, but it entertains Mya very well. So I'd say it does it's job!

Good old July 4th!

It was my first 4th of July out of Pocatello and away from my family. I didn't know what to expect, maybe the same kind of show that they do in Idaho? It was similar, but not quite as familiar. We drove over to the mall here in Citrus Heights with Daneile, Chris, Vanessa and Taylor.

We didn't have anything to sit on, but Vince's car. So we pulled our blanket out and sat on the trunk. Mya wanted to climb all over his car. We even spooked her by peeking through the sunroof!

It really looks like we were driving with her holding on! She enjoyed climbing on Daddy's car, but I don't think she'll be doing it again once it's cleaned. :)

It was just before the show was about to start and we were all excited! Settling down in our spots we turned and waited for AC/DC to start off the show. Well, it wasn't AC/DC. It was some weirdo music, that didn't fit. So I ignored the music and focused on the fireworks. Mya was having a blast! She loved the fireworks! She would point and look excited! That same day, Daneile and I taught her to put her arm in the air and go "woo!!" and yes, she did it!

After the firework show, we headed back to our apartments to do our own fireworks show!

We let Mya hold a sparkler and she loved it. I only wish we could light it. She was in awe when the sparklers would be lit.

Here is Vince with his very own sparkler dance! He was being a huge dork and was dancing all over like one of those ribbon dancer!

Daneile was so happy that she got to hold 2 sparklers, it just shows on her face! :)

Mya and Twinkee are really good buddies, they shared the trunk of the car while the adults didn't act so much like adults! Mya was very good that night and stayed where she was just watching all the chaos around her.

Here is Taylor with his amazing sparkler skills! He didn't dance like Vince, but tried a very daring move.

This is one crazy picture! We were all telling Chris to jump over the firework, I didn't think he would actually do it! He face looks so happy! I have to say that it was a very good fourth and Mya was just a good sport through it all! Happy 4th of July everyone!!!!
